More than 15,000 lorries have already been registered for the new lawsuit being prepared by the Federal Association for Logistics and Utilisation of Road Transport (BGL) and Truck ReClaim.

Due to the continued high level of interest, the deadline for filing a new class action against the trucking cartel has been extended until the end of August. Interested companies can register on the online platform www.truckreclaim.com until 31 August 2024 and thus pursue their claims for damages without the risk of legal costs, reads BGL’s press release.

If compensation is awarded, a fee of 33 per cent of the amount won will be charged. For members of the associations involved in the litigation, the fee is reduced to 28 per cent of the compensation amount, according to the BGL.

Claims can be made for trucks purchased from 1997 up to and including 2016 (purchase, hire purchase and leasing).

Companies from outside Germany are also entitled to join the class action.
