HHLA Pure, launched in 2023, combines the strengths of the Port of Hamburg and METRANS’ eco-friendly rail network. It utilises electric trains, lightweight wagons, and widely electrified processes at container terminals to minimise emissions. Unavoidable CO₂ emissions are offset through certified development projects.

We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint, said Luca Ferrara, CEO of cargo-partner. Extending our partnership with HHLA Pure reflects our dedication to offering sustainable solutions to our customers.

Across the Czech Republic and Slovakia, cargo-partner facilitated over 6,800 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) of climate-neutral transport in 2023. The program has also expanded to include additional ports like Gdańsk and Trieste.

In Hungary, cargo-partner joined HHLA Pure in 2023, enabling carbon-free shipments to and from various European ports. The company also utilises electric trucks for deliveries within Hungary. Over 6,000 TEUs were transported through the program in the past year.
