Alice Cooper and RHA’s Rod McKenzie support today’s Global Action Day
To highlight that the support the live events sector urgently needs from governments to survive the Covid-19 crisis, a day of global action is take place under the #WeMakeEvents hashtag.
Among the business affected by the lack of events are hauliers, who have lost huge sums on the back of event cancellations.
I am worried about the people who always work so hard to make the show happen: the companies and crews who do the sounds and lights for a show. And the bus and truck drivers, and the company who get us there. They lost everything in March this year and have no idea when they can get work again” – said singer-songwriter Alice Cooper in a video supporting the event.
Rod McKenzie, Managing Director of Policy & Public Affairs, Road Haulage Association also supports the event.
#WeMakeEvents is highlighting the crisis in the live music industry because of Covid and its related Gig Haulage sector – losing live music in this country is a cultural disaster – if firms go bust they won’t restart after the crisis @RHANews #lightitinred https://t.co/PhOspwKYR4
