Today’s headline story: Correos upgrades fleet with 100 electric Renault vans

Correos has announced the addition of 100 new electric vans to its fleet. By the end of the year, the Spanish postal operator says it will have 2,506 electric vehicles and 310 hybrid or eco vans.

Correos claims the fleet upgrade means it has the largest electric and “zero emission” fleets in Spain’s postal and parcel delivery sector.

The company adds that its goal is to have half of its fleet based on alternative technologies by 2030. Besides environmental ambitions, Correos notes that its fleet upgrades will allow for easier access to low-emission zones being implemented in Spanish cities.

Correos’ new 100% electric Renault Kangoo Van E-Tech vans have 3.9 m3 of space for loads and can carry up to 600 kg of cargo.

The vehicle has a range of 300 km, with a 30 minute charge having the capacity to provide 170 kilometres of range. To charge its electric vehicles, Correos has 500 points throughout Spain.
