The new contract, set to commence on 28 March 2025, will see DFDS take over the critical maritime link that serves Jersey’s residents and businesses. Filip Hermann, Vice President of the Channel & Baltics Business Unit, emphasised the importance of the service, highlighting its significance for the island’s economy and vital supply chains.
The Danish shipping company will expand its presence in the English Channel, adding to its existing routes between Dover, Calais, and Dunkirk, and the service between Newhaven and Dieppe. DFDS is currently working on finalising service details, including vessel specifications and scheduling, with plans to share comprehensive information within the next two weeks.
As part of the transition, DFDS will collaborate closely with local authorities, business organisations, ports, and community stakeholders to ensure a seamless handover and optimise the ferry service for Jersey’s residents and visitors.
The company has committed to maintaining the current service’s reliability and pledged to provide a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers and freight transporters alike.
