According to Gendarmerie de la Charente-Maritime, who tweeted about the story, the accident occurred on November 24th on the RN 10 in the direction of Bedenac.
As the Gendarmerie explained, a truck lost its wheel, which bounced on the road surface before smashing through the windscreen of the truck behind.
Somewhat miraculously, the driver of that truck avoided injury. Neither are there any reports of other injuries.
In its tweet, the Gendarmerie used the accident as an example of why it is so crucial drivers conduct their daily checks.
