2020 sales figures show Scania remains Sweden’s most popular truck manufacturer

Recently published sales figures show that Scania had the largest market share in Sweden’s heavy truck sector in 2020. The company have edged out Volvo, with both manufacturers dominating the market in their home country.

According to data published by Bilsweden, Scania sold 2,247 new heavy trucks in 2020, about 150 more than Volvo. Both manufacturers increased their market shares to 45.3% ( up from 44.2 in 2019%) and 42.2% (up from 39.6%), respectively.

Mercedes come third on the list with 7.6 %, followed by MAN with 2.6% and Iveco 0.1%.

In December, the total market decreased by almost 20% to 431 units. Across the full year, it decreased by 25% to 4,959 compared to 6,652 during 2019 (although that was indeed a record year for sales).
