This industrial action, organised by the Italian union Fao Cobas and officially announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, will affect the entire Italian territory.

The strike is scheduled to continue until 00:00 on 21 August 2024, and it is expected to cause significant disruptions, particularly in the distribution and supply of essential goods throughout Italy.

The truck drivers and heavy vehicle operators participating in the strike are protesting against what they describe as “unsustainable working conditions”.

Their demands include better wages, reduced working hours, and improved safety measures.
