In the autumn of 2020, the government opened several of the sites at service stations and truck stops across the UK. There are now 3 in Spain, 1 in the Netherlands as well as another 5 on cross-channel ferries.

According to the DfT, the sites offer in-person assistance on how deal with the paperwork needed to move goods between Great Britain and the EU.

The three sites in Spain are located at Andamur rest areas in La Jonquera, Pamplona and San Román. Each site is open from 6am until 10pm on weekdays, and 8am to 8pm on weekends. The only other advice site on the European mainland is located at the Hook of Holland port.

In addition, there are advice sites onboard the Dover-Calais, Dover-Dunkirk and Newhaven-Dieppe ferry services, as well Brittany Ferries’ Portsmouth-Caen service and Stena Line’s Harwich to Hook of Holland crossing.

More details on opening times and advice site locations in the UK can be found on the UK Government’s website.
