August 2023 truck bans across Europe

In August, a number of European nations have additional truck bans in place for national holidays.

Here’s a summary of which of these additional truck bans are happening where and when:

August 5

Croatia – from 4am to 11pm.

August 14

Croatia – from 15.00 to 23.00.

France – from 22.00 to midnight; the ban applies to trucks and combinations of vehicles with a DMC over 7.5 tonnes, with the exception of special and agricultural vehicles.

Luxembourg – from 23.30 to midnight in the direction of Germany and from 21:30 to 24 towards France. The ban applies to vehicles with a DMC above 7.5t with or without a trailer.

Poland – from From 18.00 to 22.00, vehicles and combinations of vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of more than 12 tons are not allowed on the roads.

15 August

Austria – from 0.01 to 22.00 The ban applies to tractors with trailers with a DMC above 3.5 t, as well as trucks and articulated vehicles with a DMC exceeding 7.5 t.

Croatia – from 14.00 to 23.00.

France – from 0.01 to 22.00

Luxembourg – from 0.01 to 21.45

Poland – from 8.00 to 22.00

Slovenia – from 8.00 to 22.00. The restriction applies to heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations with a DMC exceeding 7.5 t.

Italy – from 7.00 to 22.00. The ban covers heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations intended for the transport of goods with a DMC greater than 7.5 tonnes.

29th of August

Slovakia – from 0.00 to 22.00. The ban, introduced due to the anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising, applies to heavy goods vehicles with a DMC over 7.5t and heavy goods vehicles with a DMC over 3.5t with a trailer or semi-trailer.
