The negotiations between the trade union Vida and the trade association for the goods transport industry in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ) regarding employees in the goods transport industry was brought to a successful conclusion. The parties agreed on an increase of %4.96 per cent from January 1st 2022.

At the same time, an agreement was made for the years 2023 and 2024. In both years there should be an increase that is 0.5% more than the respective annual inflation.

The inflation forecast for 2023 is 3%, while it is 2% for 2024.

“We have thus achieved a 3-year agreement, which is essential for the long-term planning of our company,” says  Günther Reder, chairman of WKÖ .

Reder added that, when it comes to the serious shortage of skilled workers, the increase is to help to retain employees and also to find new ones.
