Driver fined for multiple violations regarding transport of broken down bendy bus

A lorry driver has been fined for multiple offences concerning the towing of a broken down bendy bus from Germany into Poland.

According to the co-driver of the tow truck that was stopped by inspectors, the broken bus had been recently purchased in Fröndenberg and was being transported to Poland to be dismantled for spare parts. 

However, inspectors found that some legal requirements had not been met with regards to the transport. Among other things, those towing the bus had no special transport permit or proof of insurance cover for the bus.

Furthermore, officers added that the permissible maximum vehicle length of 18 metres was significantly exceeded. 

The police ended up giving the the driver a fine of an undisclosed amount for the aforementioned violations.
