Since 2021, Bidfood Netherlands has already integrated 25 Renault Trucks E-Tech vehicles into its fleet, achieving a reduction of 230 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The addition of the upcoming 25 electric trucks will bring the total number of Renault Trucks E-Tech vehicles in its fleet to 50.
“These tangible results show that electromobility is not a distant ambition but an operational and effective reality,” said Dick Slootweg, Managing Director of Bidfood Netherlands. “It allows us to reduce our environmental footprint while meeting our customers’ growing expectations for sustainability.”
Renault Trucks Netherlands has worked closely with Bidfood over the past three years to support the integration of electric vehicles into its operations. This collaboration has included tailored solutions to address specific operational challenges and align with the company’s decarbonisation goals.
The upcoming trucks will be manufactured at Renault Trucks’ production facility in Blainville-sur-Orne, France. This plant, the first in Europe to produce electric trucks in series, has been at the forefront of sustainable vehicle production since 2020. It recently celebrated the delivery of its 2,000th electric truck, a Renault Trucks E-Tech model, which was handed over to Bidfood Netherlands.
The new electric trucks are part of Bidfood Netherlands’ strategy to align its logistics operations with environmental targets, reflecting the growing demand for zero-emission mobility solutions in the logistics sector.
