BIFA update on Border Force civil servant strike at airports and Newhaven port

The Civil Service industrial action will impact Border Force services affecting passengers during the period 23-31 December 2022 at a number of UK airports, announced the organiser Public and Commercial Service (PCS) union.

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has published information regarding the impact of the strike based on updated information from the government.

Impact of industrial action at some airports and Port of Newhaven

According to BIFA’s information, some Border Force members will strike on 23-26 December 2022 and 28-31 December 2022, at the following locations:

  • Birmingham Airport
  • Cardiff Airport
  • Gatwick Airport
  • Glasgow Airport
  • Heathrow Terminals 2, 3, 4 & 5
  • Manchester Airport
  • Port of Newhaven

The strike can lead to disruption at the aforementioned ports, airports, and Inland Border Facilities (IBF) including queues, and drivers should be prepared for this, warns the freight association.
