According to Waberer’s, the vehicle is being used by subsidiary WSZL for urban distribution in Budapest.
The trial is designed to test the truck’s performance, efficiency, and adaptability in urban environments.
“When scheduling the daily routes, emphasis has been placed on maximizing the truck’s payload and load space, taking into account the vehicle’s range. Each day, the electric truck completed several routes with 10-12 drop-offs, covering an average distance of 150 km,” said Waberer’s.
Waberer’s added that the 8.16-metre long truck boasts “exceptional agility and outstanding maneuverability” even on narrow downtown locations. This, said Waberer’s, is thanks to its 360-degree camera system and “minimal blind spots”.
The Hungarian haulier claims that when the the BYD truck is compared to competitors, it has a payload advantage of 9.7 tons.
“Each brand has its unique strengths. In the case of BYD, we’d particularly highlight its impressive payload capacity. Beyond the environmental advantages, these electric trucks notably reduce noise pollution, making urban deliveries less intrusive and more community-friendly,” commented Szilárd Cser – WSZL ‘s managing director.
