As reported by the Eastern Daily Press, Hurnfield Hargate Farm Shop and Café is listed as for sale on the rightmove website. The listing for the real estate, located on the A17 around 15 miles north of King’s Lynn, includes the lorry park next to the shop and cafe building.

The asking price for the site is currently £1.25 million.

As the listing on rightmove explains, “an area is currently used as an overnight lorry park but is also suited to alternative uses.”

A staff member at Hurnfield Hargate Farm Shop and Café has confirmed to the Eastern Daily press that the venue would be closing for good on Christmas Eve.

The news has echoes of what happened to Lockerbie Lorry Park, which has now shut down. The property was put for sale and then purchased by a company intending to use it for other purposes than a truck stop.

Truckers who frequent Hurnfield Hargate Farm Shop and Café will thus be hoping that whoever takes it over will keep lorry park open.
