The lorry driver called police in the Upper Bavaria region of Germany last Wednesday to report that goods had been stolen from his trailer.
However, after officers arrived at the scene and checked the trucker’s ID, he ended up being the subject of police attention too.
It was found that the man had an arrest warrant in his name based on traffic offenses from 2020. The lorry driver was wanted for having not paid a police fine.
The trucker was released after he paid the fine. However, the consequences for the driver didn’t end there. The police told the Ukrainian national that he could not continue the journey in his truck as his driving licence was not valid in Germany.
As for the cargo theft, it occurred at the Holzkirchen-Süd rest area. The value of the stolen goods, clothes bound for Italy, is estimated at a few thousand euros.
