Data from German software company Transporeon shows that the cost of transporting full truckloads from France to the UK last week was up 47% compared to Q3 2020.
That figure is up 8% from the week before, when prices were 39% above the Q3 2020 average.
Transporeon say they chose to compare current figures with Q3 data as it was considered to be more representative of normal trade levels.
Moreover, Transporeon’s data shows that the rejection rate for freight forwarders last week was 168% more than Q3 2020. In the first week of the year, the rejection rate was just marginally higher than Q3 2020.
The German company also told Reuters on Monday that freight forwarders had rejected loads to be transported to the UK from Germany, Italy and Poland.
