DB Schenker Italiana has reportedly had €1m foreclosed by its bank after the logistics company failed to act on a court order requiring over €700,000 compensation to be paid to 10 truck drivers.

According to multiple reports in Italy, the foreclosure came about after DB Schenker Italiana had failed to pay 10 drivers the compensation they were due some 3 months following a court verdict.

In total, it is said that €1,158,725.52 has been foreclosed.

As reported by Milano Today, on April 5th of this year, a Milan court ordered that DB Schenker Italiana pay a total amount €733,246.67 to former staff who were due compensation for unpaid overtime and unfair deductions among other things.

The drivers who were due the compensation drove full time for DB Schenker Italiana for a period spanning over 7 years.

Following the verdict of the court, the guilty party was given ten days to make the payments. However, some 3 months later, it was reported that the money had still not been transferred. It is worth noting here that the company’s 2021 financial figures show it made a whopping profit of €32m.

DB Schenker Italiana will now have to return to court in September, with the money foreclosed by the bank set to be used to be distributed to the drivers and their families accordingly.
