DB Schenker announced in 2019 that it was investing in a large terminal and office building directly at the E20 and E45 intersection in Taulov. The facility was opened on Monday.
With approximately 100 own distribution vehicles, DB Schenker can now cover the whole of Denmark with environmentally friendly solutions, as all vehicles run on renewable biofuel HVO100 biodiesel, reports transportmagasinet.dk.
The Cross Docking terminal is a new international and central hub for the European and Scandinavian line hauls, multimodal solutions, packages and global sea and air freight activities.
With an area of 89,150 m2, the new facility occupies approximately 12 football pitches. A terminal of around 7,000 m2 has been designed with 68 gates, storage booths and parking for 80 HGVs, as well as parking for distribution vehicles. The terminal was built with the highest level of security (TAPA) in order to handle goods for all business areas, the company adds.
