DB Schenker opens £11 million facility in Manchester

DB Schenker has inaugurated its newly acquired facility at Trafford Park, Manchester, representing a £11 million investment. The 2.3-acre site features a 47,500-square-foot warehouse and 7,500 square feet of office space.

“This investment will support a broad range of industry verticals, highlighting our dedication to providing comprehensive solutions for our customers,” stated Aaron Scott, CEO of DB Schenker UK & Ireland. 

The facility, which is TAPA A, AEO, and customs-approved, aims to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.

The facility includes solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations, and is equipped with an X-ray machine for local air cargo screening, facilitating cargo departures from Manchester Airport.

Scott also highlighted the benefits to the local community, noting the creation of job opportunities and economic growth:

“We look forward to the continued success and growth this investment will bring, benefiting both DB Schenker and the wider community.”

The Manchester facility will serve diverse industry sectors, including industrial, aerospace, retail, healthcare, and renewables, the company added.
