Deutsche Telekom has announced it will be utilising myflexbox parcel lockers as part of a new after care service. The German telecommunications giant is labelling the parcel lockers as “Smart Depots”.

The service will be trialled in Berlin for 1 year and rolled out to other cities should the pilot be successful.

myflexbox claims the project is an excellent example of the versatile applications of its parcel stations, and shows how lockers can be harnessed for real-time customer service.

The main function of the “Smart Depot” will be to allow customers suffering from technical issues with devices like routers to send them back to Deutsche Telekom while also receiving a replacement.

Anyone within a 15-kilometer radius of a myflexbox can now choose the option to pick up at a parcel locker. The service is available 24/7, and the deliveries can be processed within minutes.

According to myflexbox, this represents a new dimension of customer service compared to traditional parcel shipping, which often takes several days.
