On July 15, 2024, the Bulgarian Food Safety Authority started preventive disinfection of all vehicles entering Bulgaria from Turkish territory.
The Office explains the introduction of this measure due to the epidemiological situation related to the occurrence of various infectious animal diseases – reports the Hungarian transport organisation MKFE.
The disinfection at the border is not a free service.
Drivers or their employers will have to pay for it according to the following price list:
- passenger cars: around €2
- minibuses and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes: €5
- buses: €5 euros
- trucks over 3.5 tonnes: €10
