The company has concluded an agreement for the procurement of 50 long-range electric trucks, half of which will come from MAN and half from Mercedes-Benz.
In addition, Dreier has been granted planning permission for the creation of an electric lorry park in Egerkingen that will be used as a charging facility. When completed, it will have 23 parking lanes with charging stations, including 12 fast charging points and 11 standard charging points. The company adds that the electric lorry park can also be expanded with megachargers if necessary.
“The new generations of electric trucks from MAN and Mercedes-Benz, which will be used from 2025, impress with a range of 500 km and a battery capacity of up to 600 kilowatt hours as well as 400 kW continuous power, which corresponds to 544 hp. The three battery units with lithium iron phosphate cell technology are designed for a long service life with 1.2 million kilometers in ten years of operation,” says Dreier.
On top of these 50 vehicles, the company is due to receive 15 electric trucks from Volvo Trucks next year.
Dreier AG says it will eventually use electricity and HVO for its trucks in Europe, using diesel only on its North Africa routes.
