You can read this article in 2 minutes

Every second European suffers from allergies. In addition to animal dust and fur, allergic reactions are most often caused by plants. In the case of truck drivers, it is not only a matter of health but also safety, especially when the allergic reaction involves the eyes.

Burning and itching can lead to faster fatigue of the eye, thus negatively affecting safety at the wheel. Conjunctival hyperemia can be ameliorated by using eye drops, however, it is worth consulting a doctor beforehand. Similar to allergic symptoms may also have other, more serious ailments.

Here are some tips that will help minimize allergy symptoms:

– if you use air conditioning, it is worth investing in a pollen filter,

– when you ask for a prescription for antihistamines, please mention to the doctor that you are a driver,

– clean the vehicle – vacuum regularly,

– if you wear contact lenses, it’s better to give up. Until the allergic reaction persists, save the sensitive area of the eye and put on the glasses,

– if possible, avoid the routes at dawn and at dusk – that’s when the concentration of pollen in the air is the biggest,

– try not to leave the vehicle in damp places,

– treatment of allergy symptoms should start two or three days before the start of the route,

– never drink alcohol when taking antihistamines (against allergy symptoms).
