DSV has announced an order for 800 lorries from Volvo, including 300 electric heavy-duty models. The remaining 500 trucks will be fuel-efficient diesel and gas-powered vehicles, demonstrating a balanced approach to fleet modernisation.

DSV’s CEO, Jens Bjørn Andersen, said that this investment is part of the company’s strategy to deploy 2,000 electric trucks by 2030.

“This order underscores our continued efforts to enhance our operations and meet the growing demand for environmentally responsible logistics,” Andersen said.

The lorries are scheduled for delivery between 2024 and 2025, and they will be deployed across DSV’s European network.

With the order, DSV will have one of the largest company fleets of heavy electric trucks in Europe.

DSV’s strong financial performance in the first half of 2024 seems to justify this notable order. Despite facing a challenging market, the company reported revenues of DKK 79.5 billion for H1 2024, an increase of 2% year-on-year. However, the company experienced a 16.6% decline in operating profit (EBIT) before special items, which amounted to DKK 7.7 billion compared to DKK 9.4 billion in H1 2023. The company has also launched a new share buyback programme worth DKK 1.5 billion.
