In an update posted late last night, the DVSA Enforcement team told of how it dealt with the dangers posed by two HGVs.
The lorries were spotted during checks conducted at Crick in Northamptonshire.
The red HGV in the image above was found to have two inoperative trailer brakes. Meanwhile, the white lorry, which was still using an analogue tachograph, had accrued a total of 23 hours of driving without its driver taking a valid rest period. The driver also failed to present previous drivers’ hours records.
As regards the actions taken, the DVSA simply stated “Dangers dealt with”.

A few days previous, on Friday, Norfolk & Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team also spotted an HGV that was connected with a string of violations.
According to the police, the driver of the lorry was unable to provide officers with his driving licence, CPC Plate, insurance and his vehicle’s MOT. Moreover, the vehicle had no trailer plate, and the driver was guilty of six tachograph offences.
As a consequence, the vehicle was seized and the driver reported.
