As part of its climate plan, the French Government is allowing truck owners access to grants of up to €50,000 to convert standard commercial freight vehicles to electric power.

According to reports in France, the scheme covers 40% of a company’s conversion costs up to a total of €50,000 per vehicle.
Moreover, €50,000 is available for the purchase or rental (for a period of at least two years) of a new electric and/or hydrogen truck, bus or coach.
The grant scheme, known as the “retro-fit bonus” had already been in place for light commercial vehicles, but has now been expanded to trucks.
In addition, a zero-interest loan scheme for the purchase of small electric vans priced under €60,000 has also been announced.
