From 2 April, citizens of those European countries that do not require a visa to travel to the UK will be required to have an ETA. This requirement therefore covers citizens of all European Union countries.

The application for the authorisation can be submitted from 5 March. The cost of issuing an ETA is currently £10; however, the British government has already announced a 60 per cent increase. According to the official government announcement, issuing an ETA from 9 April this year will cost £16.

An application for issuance can be submitted online or via the UK ETA application. It should take no more than three working days to obtain the document.
