Italian transport and logistics company FERCAM has established a new branch in Turku, Finland, furthering its presence in the Scandinavian logistics sector. The company’s latest expansion, known as FERCAM Finland, aims to improve full-load and partial-load transport solutions in Northern Europe. Turku’s strategic location—home to a prominent port for import and export operations—will support enhanced connectivity between Finland and the rest of Europe.
The expansion into Turku follows the opening of FERCAM Sweden in 2021 and the company’s recent move into Lithuania. This new branch marks another phase in FERCAM’s Northern European growth strategy, as it seeks to build a scalable logistics network that effectively meets the demands of both local and international clients.
According to Theo Hasselblatt, Branch Manager of the new Turku location, the expansion is intended to “establish a more direct connection with clients in the Scandinavian region, improving operational efficiency and continuing to ensure high-quality service standards, key elements in our company vision.” Hasselblatt added that the new Finnish branch will collaborate closely with FERCAM Sweden to solidify the network and deliver customised solutions.
With its growth in Finland, FERCAM is also emphasizing its commitment to environmental sustainability. The company plans to incorporate intermodal transport solutions, using sea and rail routes such as the Helsinki-Rostock line to cut emissions and minimise road traffic. Additionally, FERCAM offers clients the option of using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as a diesel alternative in road transport, aligning with broader sustainability objectives.
Through this latest development, FERCAM not only establishes new logistical routes but also reinforces its commitment to offering environmentally responsible transport options, reflecting both the company’s operational goals and its dedication to sustainable practices.
