Fines for truck curtains in Great Britain

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is now issuing fines to trucks equipped with curtains in the windows.

Truckers risk 100 pound fine in the United Kingdom for covering the side window with curtains, according to the bigtruck.nl, the Dutch transport portal. If curtains are visible from the outside the DVSA officers will check the vehicle. Specifically, the officers verify whether this element of decoration does not cover the ramp mirror.

Allegedly, from the beginning of this year, the agency issued up to several dozen fines for this offence. However, as we learned directly from the DVSA, from January 1, officers punished, for this reason, less than 5 truckers. You can expect a fine if „the curtain in the cockpit obscures compulsory mirrors and the driver has no proper visibility,” explains DVSA in the email to Trans.Info
