The French government is going to grant hauliers a direct bonus of 50,000 euros for the purchase or long-term rental of an electric or hydrogen truck from 2021.
The grant can also be combined with another state support package: an exceptional deduction in taxable income that can be claimed when purchasing a heavy vehicle using clean energy.
This means, if a company acquires an electric truck, the combination of the two subsidies can amount to 100,000 euros. The first assessment of this new grant will be carried out within 6 months.
The grant also applies to passenger transport: companies purchasing an electric or hydrogen bus or coach can receive a grant of 30,000 euros.
