According to the Commercial Market Outlook 2021 published by Boeing, the demand for air freight will increase by 4 percent annually over the next 20 years.

US parcel service UPS also wants to take advantage of this boom in the air freight market and has recently ordered 19 Boeing 767 freight planes. Since the model was introduced in 1995, the parcel service has already ordered 91 such freighters.

The Boeing 767 is the most versatile aircraft we use. Our plan to buy 19 aircraft and put them into service between 2023 and 2025 is in line with the strategy and investment forecast we published during our Investor and Analyst Day in June 2021 . It also supports our sustainability efforts by making our fleet more efficient and reliable, says UPS US Operations President Nando Cesarone.

The transaction is expected to amount to $4.2 billion.
