On Tuesday, 19 November, French farmers are set to begin their protest. According to reports from European hauliers’ organisations, demonstrators plan to blockade the toll gate on the A9 motorway at Boulou, near the Spanish border.
“It is difficult to predict what other actions French farmers may take, so it is strongly advised to avoid the border area on that day,” warned Febetra, the Belgian hauliers’ organisation.

Spanish hauliers appeal to French authorities
CETM, the Spanish hauliers’ organisation, has expressed significant concern over the planned action.
The union stated its “deepest concern about the impact these actions will have on road freight transport, particularly regarding the safety of drivers and the integrity of goods and vehicles.”
It is worth noting that farmers’ protests in France often extend beyond roadblocks. During protests led by French farmers in January this year, foreign trucks were targeted, with goods—mainly agricultural products—being forcibly removed.
