EcoVadis is a provider of business-to-business sustainability ratings, and partners with more than 100,000 companies globally. The EcoVadis ratings take account of sustainability performance in four different areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
The platform rates a company’s performance by assessing its policies, strategies, initiatives and results, as well as inputs from third-party professionals and external stakeholders. Participants are scored between 1 and 100 for each of the four themes.
In the area of sustainability, Girteka scored 60 points compared to the business average of 41. The company’s main strengths were considered to be quantitative objectives set on environmental services and advocacy, as well as energy consumption and GHG emissions. In the area of labour and human rights, as well as ethics, Girteka’s score was an above average 50 points.
The overall score Girteka achieved across the four categories was 51 points, which was enough for the logistics company to take home the EcoVadis Bronze Medal.
