As reported by trans.iNFO’s Eastern European service, the data from the state department says that 5 Girteka staff pocketed monthly salaries of over €51,000 in the second month of the year.
The monthly pay enjoyed by those 5 employees was around €11,000 more than the next-highest quoted salary of €37,000, which was paid to 6 employees of energy companies.
According to Sodra representative Kristina Zitikitė, wages have increased in Lithuania due to a 14% rise in the minimum wage as well as the growth of the economy.
Other figures from the social insurance fund show that in 2021, every fourth employee in Lithuania received a salary of less than €800 euros, dropping to 1 in 5 last year.
Some 43% workers received monthly incomes ranging from €1,000 to €2,000, with 17% earning between €2,000 and €3,000 per month. Around 12% of the country have monthly salaries of around €3,000.
