Effective 2 January 2025, Lithuanian Girteka Group has expanded its operations by opening a new forwarding office in Warsaw, Poland, and appointing Angel Kalinov as Director of Brokerage. These initiatives are part of the company’s long-term strategy to enhance its logistics network through asset-based operations and partnerships with forwarding agents.
The new office in Warsaw is a strategic addition to Girteka’s existing network, which includes operations in Vilnius, Lithuania, and Tbilisi, Georgia. Warsaw’s central location in Europe’s logistics network and the high volume of Polish carriers—managing over 20% of European transport—make it a critical hub for Girteka.
The Warsaw office aims to integrate local expertise with Girteka’s brokerage platform, to expand its access to carriers and leverage a skilled workforce of brokers and forwarders. Girteka already operates the largest transport base in Poland, located in Sady near Poznań, and a ClassTrucks sales yard in Rawa Mazowiecka.
Angel Kalinov, who has worked in brokerage across North America and Europe, will oversee the brokerage division, including the new Warsaw office. His professional background includes team management and the implementation of digital tools to improve operational processes.
Girteka is expanding its brokerage services as part of its strategy to streamline operations and extend its market presence. Integrating brokerage with its asset-based operations allows the company to better manage fluctuations in demand and offer greater flexibility to customers. Additionally, by increasing its subcontracting in the tautliner segment, Girteka aims to widen its market reach and improve overall profitability.
