The electric HGV, which operates with electricity generated entirely from renewable energy, will cover approximately 60,000 kilometres annually, all without producing emissions. This initiative is part of a long-standing partnership between Gruber Logistics and Siemens AG, focused on reducing the environmental impact of transport services.

“The implementation of the electric truck for the Siemens plant in Leipzig sets a new standard for resource-saving logistics. To further develop sustainable transport solutions in the industry, it is essential to have a partner like Siemens at our side who shares our innovative strength and environmental responsibility,” said Felix Kunath, Executive Director of the Full Truck Load Business Unit at Gruber Logistics.

The introduction of the electric vehicle complements Siemens’ ongoing use of low-emission transport solutions. The company already uses an LNG (liquefied natural gas) lorry provided by Gruber Logistics for the route between Berlin and Frankfurt am Main, and another bio-LNG truck for routes between Gütersloh and Frankfurt.
