It’s a story from a Holywood movie. A young homeless man meets friendly people who reach out to him and offer help. Thanks to their generosity, he bounces off the bottom and decides to fulfill his biggest dream – he becomes a truck driver. What’s more, he shares his story to motivate professional drivers to continuous development.

The extraordinary story of Jordan „Blake” Harness, a 28-year-old boy who grew up in Huntsville, Tennessee, describes livetrucking.com. His mother brought him up. As soon as he turned 21, he and his mother lost their home. One day in December, he met an older couple. Jordan told them all that had happened to him. The couple decided to invite him home and offered him a place to sleep on the couch. And that’s how it began.

The older couple decided to change the fate of the 21-year-old. They gave him money so he could make a driving license for a truck. Jordan, however, did not stop there. He completed a special preparatory course for the profession. In this way, he became a truck driver. He enjoyed his long hours in solitude.

I want to motivate other truckers

Jordan decided to motivate other truckers to work. He runs a Facebook profile called „Ninja Trucker”. That’s where we learn that after a few years of work behind the wheel of a truck, he decided to explore the martial arts as well. Now, he recommends it to every driver. As he claims, thanks to mixed martial arts (MMA) science he feels much more confident both on the road and outside.

Road transport and MMA have much in common in terms of professional ethics. Few people work as hard as truck drivers. Being both a trucker and a MMA fighter helps a lot. Sport clears the mind after a stressful time on the road,” admits Jordan in an interview with livetrucking.com

The trucker changed his life

Jordan does not forget about his beginnings. He thinks that the truck driver’s profession has changed his life for the better. Thanks to taking a driving license he could have bounced off the bottom. Now, after almost seven years in the industry, he wants to do something for the community that welcomed him so warmly. Jordan wants his story to motivate other truckers to change their lives for the better.

Sports, martial arts or hobbies that you love are the best medicine that a truck driver can prescribe himself. They are indispensable to maintain sobriety of mind and healthy spirit during long routes,” he sums up.
