The Henley Standard reports that campaigners want a 7.5-ton weight restriction placed on Henley bridge. However, Oxfordshire County Council and the highways authority are looking into a 18-ton limit for the wider area instead.
It is already known that the town council had agreed to pay consultants £2,000 at a planning committee meeting last week, and now they are set to spend even more.
Councillor Laurence Plant told the Henley Standard:
“It’s such an important issue for most of the residents in town. Definitely this is something we need to do our best on.”
