The accident happened near Catania in Italy on October 31st. The clean-up operation took most of the following day.

According to the local press, a truck, for reasons yet to be determined, veered off the road and fell from an overpass on the A18 motorway, ending up on the road below.
The driver of the HGV, incredibly, was unharmed. He was nonetheless taken to hospital for observation.
Video footage shot by the fire brigade in Catania shows the HGV and its trailer being uprighted as part of the clean-up operation. After the vehicle was successfully lifted, the trailer fell apart and the damage to the lorry also became clear.
