The agreement builds upon their existing collaboration initiated in March 2022, which initially focused on hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles.

The forthcoming IVECO-badged vehicle will be based on Hyundai’s Global eLCV platform, specifically designed for commercial vehicles in the weight range of 2.5 to 3.5 tons. This platform incorporates Hyundai’s latest technology for next-generation Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and features a low-floor design, enhancing usability for cargo loading and carrying.

Under the terms of the partnership, Hyundai will be responsible for manufacturing and supplying the IVECO-badged chassis cab tailored for the European market.

Iveco Group will take charge of local customization and exclusive distribution of the complete vehicles through its established sales channels.

The announcement positions the IVECO-badged vehicle as the first export model to utilise Hyundai’s new Global eLCV platform, symbolizing a pivotal step towards delivering sustainable solutions in the commercial vehicle segment.

The product resulting from this collaboration is set to be unveiled at the IAA Transportation 2024 event in Hannover, Germany, from September 16 to 22, 2024.
