InPost reaches milestone with 7,000 parcel lockers in UK

Polish parcel-locker provider InPost has announced the installation of its 7,000th parcel locker in Great Britain. The company now operates over 1,600 collection and drop-off points (PUDO) in the country. This extensive network means that residents in major cities such as London, Birmingham, and Manchester have, on average, only a seven-minute walk to the nearest InPost machine.

The British market is a key focus for the Polish company, which aims to become the country’s leading out-of-home (OOH) delivery provider. The company has reported rapid growth, with a significant increase in parcel volumes and profitability. In the first quarter of 2024, the number of parcels handled in Great Britain increased by 147% year-on-year, while revenues rose by 194.1% year-on-year. InPost’s UK network expanded to over 8,460 OOH points, representing a 59% year-on-year increase.

“The British market is very important for the InPost Group and has enormous potential. We want to be the strongest out-of-home delivery player in this country. We continue to grow faster than the market and record significant volume increases, as well as increasing profitability as the scale of operations increases. The results for the first quarter of 2024 confirmed that the chosen strategy is being successfully implemented. We continue to focus on expanding the network of Paczkomat® devices. In every market where we are present, we invest in the most popular sport. In the United Kingdom, it is football, and cooperation with the iconic Newcastle United football club is an excellent opportunity for us to build stronger relationships with our clients,” Rafał Brzoska, founder and CEO of InPost, commented on the achievement.

Neil Kuschel, president of InPost UK, added:

“We’ve seen significant demand for InPost lockers and thanks to this latest 7,000 milestone, we’ve now achieved a substantial 40% increase in locations since March last year. The locker market remains extremely strong, and we want to help our retail customers capitalise on this demand.”

InPost has also entered into a long-term partnership with Newcastle United, becoming the football club’s official global delivery partner. This collaboration is part of InPost’s strategy to enhance brand recognition and customer engagement in the UK.
