Logistics service provider Kuehne+Nagel has announced the expansion of its fleet with six fully electric lorries from Renault Trucks. The E-Tech D 16 4×2 vehicles will be deployed across multiple locations in Germany, with one already operating in Hamburg for over a year. Following the success of this initial trial, an additional lorry will be added to the Hamburg fleet, alongside two trucks each for the locations in Limbach-Oberfrohna and Straubing.
Kuehne+Nagel is actively working to its lower carbon emissions in line with the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). The company has pledged to offset all direct and unavoidable carbon emissions since 2020 and aims to reduce its overall carbon footprint in logistics by 33% by the end of 2030.
Tobias Jerschke, CEO of Kuehne+Nagel Germany, emphasised the importance of the new e-trucks in achieving these targets:
“The new e-trucks from Renault Trucks are another important building block for successfully implementing our electrification strategy in land transport as part of our Roadmap 2026.”
Frédéric Ruesche, Managing Director of Renault Trucks Germany, added:
“It is clear that we can only combat climate change together. By working with one of the largest logistics and goods transfer companies, Kuehne+Nagel, we can significantly reduce CO2 emissions.”
