Labour reclassification and Glovo’s $78m fine amid mystery VC fund launch

Delivery Hero-owned Glovo was fined $78m in Spain last month due to labour law breaches concerning riders who were unlawfully self employed instead of having a full work contract.

Coincidentally, as reported by FT’s Sifted, the co-founder of the company unveiled a new VC fund, only for the details to be deleted – leaving an empty yellow page with no text.

Reacting to the story, Marek Różycki of Last Mile Experts provides his insights into the labour reclassification that’s influencing last mile operations in Europe.

There was also time to touch on the mysterious VC fund, the details of which disappeared soon after news of the $78m penalty broke.
