Vinci Autoroutes has added laundromats to 5 of its rest areas in France. The touchscreen operated machines send drivers an sms notification once the wash and dry cycle has completed.

In an update published on its website last week, Vinci Autoroutes confirmed that Laundromats are now available at the Reyran rest areas on the A8, the Jardin des Causses rest area on the A20, the Poitiers Jaunay Clan facility on the A10, the Village Catalan rest stop on the A9 and the Carcassonne Arzens rest area on the A61.

The company says the new service designed to “improve breaks for road professionals”. It adds that the laundry facilities will bring comfort to truck drivers on long journeys who are “way from home for several days”.

An 8kg wash and dry costs €4, while 18 kg is priced at €8. The machines accept contactless card payments and the instructions on the touchscreen are available in French, Italian, English, Spanish and Polish.
