In an update published on Facebook, Stockholm’s road traffic police said that previous inspections had shown that many vehicles coming in and out of Årsta partihallar, especially smaller trucks, are loaded “very heavily and incorrectly”.

During Monday’s inspection action, 20 LGV were checked in the morning.

Among other things, 4 persons involved in the inspected transports were arrested for illegally staying in the country. Several fines were issued due to overload, while numerous driving licenses were taken for the same reason.

Further inspections were carried out later in the day.

“Why are we making these efforts? Traffic safety, because these vehicles are loaded incorrectly and weigh too much. But also to promote and protect healthy competition. There is every reason to make a new effort there again soon,” said Stockholm’s road traffic police department.
