In a press release, Lineas said that Aernouts has been “successfully leading the French operations on an interim basis the last months and will now officially take on this role to continue driving the company’s strategic vision in the French market.”

Aernouts joined Lineas two years ago having previously worked for the French Navy, aeronautics, logistics, and railways.

Over the past years, Lineas says it has “firmly established itself as one of the top three rail freight companies operating in France”. The company adds that it has plans to expand its presence in France further.

In order to do this, the company has extended its operations to the South of France, deploying its own trains and creating a dedicated network that now reaches as far as Perpignan.

Commenting on the appointment, Bernard Gustin, Executive Chairman of Lineas, stated:

“We are very pleased to confirm Matthieu Aernouts as the Country Manager of Lineas France. His expertise and vision will continue to drive our success in the French market. With Matthieu at the helm, we are not only reinforcing our commitment to our customers but also strategically positioning Lineas for future growth and innovation in France.”
