A lorry driver saved the day for many football fans when he opened his cab’s door to share his TV with others to watch the yesterday’s England-Germany clash. A lorry had caught fire on the M62, leaving countless frustrated fans stuck on the motorway.
Hundreds of motorists were stranded following the fire, which resulted in the motorway being closed for several hours. The congestion was more than annoying on this occasion because many people were heading home to watch the Germany-England football game in the afternoon.
Not today, please no! I need to be back and in front of the tele for 5pm. Stuck in queues, not moving, on the #M62. Come on, show some mercy!#ENG #England Vs #Germany pic.twitter.com/33LbZPv51z

A lorry driver thankfully saved the day by setting up his TV in the passenger seat and opening the cab’s door so others could watch and enjoy the game.

The trucker wasn’t the only one who shared his screen; a van driver also opened the back of his vehicle and let fans watch the game on his laptop:
Well, I wasn’t planing on watching England vs Germany on a laptop out the back of a stranger’s van… but a six hour motorway closure calls for improvisation. Thanks to Sherri, the lovely fella who saved the day on the M62. #EURO2020 pic.twitter.com/PjYfSTpKxg

In the end, some motorists were almost grateful for the congestion, as cheering on the team together turned out to be quite an experience.
