Police in Brandenburg have today reported that a driver is in hospital after his cement lorry crashed into a sewage canal in the town of Venten.

Writing on Facebook, the Brandenburg Police explained that an unloaded concrete mixer lorry from Hennigsdorf had crashed into the Velten sewage canal.

For unknown reasons, the 59-year-old driver ended up driving over the wharf of the canal, with the cabin falling head-first into the water.

Miraculously, the driver was able to free himself from the cab and was later taken to hospital.
